“After suffering with painful scoliosis for many years, Bridget provided me with effective relief, in a fun and relaxing way” – Dani B
Owner & Teacher
I first came across Pilates after being referred to a studio by a Physio for a recurring knee ligament problem after several years of ski holidays. The science and logic behind the exercises resonated with me immediately and were borne out by the rapid results that have meant no more knee issues whilst skiing.
I trained as a teacher in 2002 with Stott Pilates in Canada and then became a fully Comprehensive Member of the Pilates Foundation in 2003. I am passionate about movement being key for all bodies, regardless of age or ability. I take professional development very seriously and am continually expanding my knowledge, particularly in areas of rehabilitation from injury and recovery post surgery. My vision for Simply Pilates is to pass on that knowledge not only to our clients, but also to our pool of excellent teachers.
I first fell in love with movement as a young dancer, I continued my dance education through school and university until I was forced to stop due to an injury. It was then that I discovered Pilates. Since qualifying as a pilates instructor in 2015 I have studied and worked with some inspiring educators including Alan Herdman, Madeline Black, Eric Franklin of The Franklin Method® and more recently Gary Ward of Anatomy in Motion®. I am fully qualified in all aspects of equipment and mat Pilates as well as being an Advanced Franklin Method educator. Learning from these masters has fuelled my passion for discovering the potential of human movement.
I have always loved sport and fitness and started Pilates classes in my 20s as a way of increasing flexibility and improving my posture. I instantly fell in love with Pilates and after completing my anatomy training at Oxford Brookes University I qualified at the Scott studio as a Pilates foundation accredited matwork and equipment teacher. I knew that sharing Pilates and empowering people to perform good quality movement was my passion. I was fortunate enough to be chosen by Suzanne Scott to continue working with her for a period of time teaching Pilates to professional footballers and premier league physiotherapists. I continued my career with professional sports people working with Bristol university’s high performance athletes some of whom completed at commonwealth and Olympic standard. I have worked at Simply Pilates for a number of years and love the wide variety of clients I have been lucky enough to teach. I believe good quality movement can be achieved by anyone, and should be something you look forward to.
